google: you’re gonna love this new product. it’s gonna change your life.
me: what does it do?

google: it’s so damn sweet. the way you look at the world will altered for good. you’ll never turn back.
me: what does it do?

google: there’s email and chat organized in this cool way which is just amazing.
me: what does it do?

google: it streamlines communication in this effective way that will alter the way you work
me: what does it do?

google: you really need to try it to get a full grasp of the mind blowing innovation
me: what the fuck does it do?

google: er, have an invite.
me: sure, fine, whatever.

Funny, but somewhat true of the entire solution to an unclear problem that was Google Wave.

While I am still a huge believer that wave was the closest thing we have seen to date as a replacement for e-mail, we will have to wait for yet another e-mail killer to emerge to finally realize that e-mail is a transport protocol and was never intended to be a silo housing of valuable content.
