Gobbled: Google Pac-Man Chomps Office Productivity – PCWorld

According to “time and attention” stat tracker RescueTime, probably.

The company figures we spent 4.8 millions hours fiddling with Google Pac-Man last week. Before you allow your jaw to hit the floor, note that’s on top of the 33.6 million hours we spend on average just poking around Google Search.

A 14 percent increase? That’s not so bad, is it?

I have said it before and I will say it again. It is not the tools that make people unproductive, it is the lack of engagement and alignment with those potentially productive outlets. Google just gave everybody a free seminar on the power of HTML 5 and the average web user was unaware that they were starting to ween themselves off of flash.
